Welcome to Peerless Institute ("Peerless," "we," "us," or "our"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of our website, products, and services, including CSLB contractor license exam-preparation materials, study guides, practice exams, quizzes, and related digital or physical products (collectively, the "Services"). By accessing our website or purchasing our Services, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use our Services.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction, to purchase or use our Services. By using our Services, you represent that you meet this requirement.

2. Our Services

Peerless Institute provides exam-preparation materials for people pursuing contractor licenses through the California Contractors State License Board ("CSLB") and related trade licensing exams. Our Services may include:

  • Digital or printed study guides
  • Practice exams and quizzes
  • Online access to exam-preparation content
  • Related educational resources

No Guarantee of Exam Results. Peerless Institute is an independent exam-preparation provider and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the CSLB or any state licensing board. Our materials are study aids only. We do not guarantee that using our Services will result in passing an examination. We are not responsible for changes to exam content, format, or requirements made by the CSLB or another licensing body.

3. Accounts

Some Services may require an account or access credentials. You are responsible for providing accurate registration information, keeping your credentials confidential, and all activity under your account. Notify us immediately of unauthorized account use.

4. Purchases, Pricing, and Payment

  • Prices are listed in U.S. dollars unless stated otherwise and may change without notice.
  • Payment is due in full at purchase and is processed by our third-party payment provider.
  • We may refuse or cancel an order for reasons including suspected fraud, pricing errors, or product unavailability.

5. Digital Products and Access

  • Digital study guides, quizzes, and online content are licensed for your personal, non-commercial use only.
  • Access may be limited by time, account, or device as stated at purchase.
  • You may not share, resell, distribute, or republish access credentials or digital materials.

6. Returns and Refunds

  • Online practice exams may be refunded within 15 days of purchase for any reason.
  • Printed study guides may be returned within 30 days of purchase if they are in new, unused, resalable condition, free of marks, dog-eared pages, scratches, notes, or other damage. The customer is responsible for return-shipping costs.
  • To request a return or refund, contact us using the information in Section 16. The complete requirements appear in our Refund Policy.

7. Intellectual Property

All content provided through our Services, including study guides, quiz questions, text, graphics, logos, and course materials, belongs to Peerless Institute or its licensors and is protected by copyright and other intellectual-property laws. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works from our content without prior written consent.

8. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to use the Services unlawfully; copy, scrape, or redistribute content or quiz questions; share paid account access with unauthorized users; interfere with or gain unauthorized access to our website or systems; or use automated tools to access the Services without permission. We may suspend or terminate access for violations.

9. Third-Party Links and Services

Our website may link to third-party sites or services, such as payment processors or CSLB resources. We do not control and are not responsible for their content, policies, or practices.

10. Marketing Communications and SMS Terms

By providing your email address, telephone number, or other contact information, you agree that we may contact you about your account, purchases, Services, customer support, transactional notices, and, where permitted by law, promotional offers.

If you opt in to SMS messages, you consent to recurring automated and non-automated messages from or on behalf of Peerless Institute at the number you provide. Messages may include promotions, product updates, abandoned-cart reminders, exam-preparation resources, order updates, and account or service notices. Marketing-message consent is not a condition of purchase.

Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Delivery is not guaranteed and may be affected by your carrier, network availability, or factors outside our control. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

You may opt out of marketing SMS messages at any time by replying STOP. We may send an opt-out confirmation and legally permitted non-marketing messages. For help, reply HELP or contact us using Section 16.

You agree to provide a valid telephone number that you own or are authorized to use and to notify us promptly if it changes or is reassigned. Our Privacy Policy governs our collection and use of your contact information.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT OUR MATERIALS ARE ERROR-FREE, CURRENT WITH THE LATEST EXAM CONTENT, OR THAT USING OUR SERVICES WILL RESULT IN A PASSING SCORE OR LICENSURE.

12. Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, PEERLESS INSTITUTE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOST PROFITS, DATA, OR EXAM FEES, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR A CLAIM RELATING TO THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICES WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US DURING THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Peerless Institute, its officers, employees, and affiliates from claims, damages, or expenses, including reasonable attorneys' fees, arising from your violation of these Terms or misuse of the Services.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms periodically. The revised version will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of our Services after changes are posted means you accept the revised Terms.

15. Governing Law and Disputes

California law governs these Terms without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Disputes arising from these Terms or the Services will be resolved in state or federal courts located in California, and you consent to those courts' personal jurisdiction.
