- Week 1: Read the outline, take a mixed baseline set, and organize an error log by the five official sections.
- Week 2: Review plumbing, electrical, and HVAC with attention to scope and sequencing.
- Week 3: Review concrete, earthwork, insulation, weatherproofing, and roofing.
- Week 4: Study framing, roofs, seismic hardware, siding, stucco, decks, and stairs.
- Week 5: Rotate through coatings, tile, flooring, cabinetry, plaster, drywall, openings, and landscaping.
- Week 6: Complete timed mixed sets involving several trades and revisit weak sections.
Worked calculation: concrete volume with stated waste
For a 30 ft × 24 ft slab 4 inches thick, thickness = 4 ÷ 12 = 0.333 ft. Volume = 30 × 24 × 0.333 = 240 ft³. Convert: 240 ÷ 27 = 8.89 yd³. With an explicitly assumed 10% waste factor: 8.89 × 1.10 = 9.78 yd³. That factor is an exercise assumption, not a universal rule.
